MY MEDICAL MISSION TO PERU - 2008
The Medical Mission
|
There were seventeen
of us that
traveled from the United States
to Peru.
Most of the group came from Texas
(Austin and Dallas). We had two physicians and myself, as sian
assistant, seeing
patients. I was quite impressed with the supplies Olive Branch
Ministries
brought to Peru.
There was a large selection of medications, along with a terrific
collection of eyeware. (Adult vision
glasses,
sunglasses and reading glasses -- Children's vision and
sunglasses).
There was one American dentist and three local Peruvian dentists (all
siblings
from one family - one male and two women). We had several
translators.
Melinda with a young patient
We had five clinic days.
Our day started early and included a two
hour bus ride to the clinic each morning. We would quickly set-up
and get
started. During the day we would see the local villagers and any
of the
orphans that were ill.
